Neena Agarwal Xavier, MD is a graduate of Vanderbilt Medical School and is a double board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Lipids, and Metabolism. She began her simulation-based education career at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she was the co-course director of the clinical simulation course in the Physician Assistant Studies program. She is certified in medical simulation from the Harvard Institute of Medical Simulation and pioneered interprofessional simulation opportunities through collaboration with UAB School of Nursing. She developed and implemented an interprofessional mock resuscitation immersive simulation which was awarded the People’s Choice Most Outstanding Interprofessional Conference Poster award at the UAB Interprofessional Healthcare symposium and was chosen as a poster presentation at the 2021 INACSL annual conference. She went on to serve as the Director for Simulation for the Brenau University Physician Assistant Studies Program. Dr. Xavier also served as an author for the 2021 Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best PracticeTM: Simulation-Enhanced Interprofessional Education and served as a roundtable facilitator for SIM-IPE Standard at the 2022 Annual INACSL Conference. She currently serves as the lead author for the upcoming Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best PracticeTM: Professional Integrity. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling to new places with her son and husband and choreographing Indian dances.
