Pedro Cartaxo is a registered nurse specializing in critical care and emergency. Currently, he holds the position of General Nursing Supervisor at Hospital ClĂnic de Barcelona (Spain) and serves as the academic coordinator for the clinical simulation and patient safety module of a master's degree in critical care at the Universitat de Barcelona. In 2023, Pedro took on a new role as an executive comimttee member of the Society in Europe for Simulation (SESAM). He is also a nursing PhD student, focusing his research on leadership and management in healthcare.
A triphasic mind, shaped by Portuguese, English, and Spanish/Catalan cultures, Pedro continuously learns and develops new competencies across four nursing pathways:
- Clinical: Specializing in critical care and emergency nursing.
- Management: Implementing internal marketing strategies for healthcare organizations and professionals.
- Education: Advancing the field of clinical simulation and extended reality (XR) in nursing education.
- Research: Investigating the synergistic impact of the management, clinical and educational pathways on patient and clinical safety.
