Jennifer Bankston graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Jennifer commissioned into the US Army in 1998 and then transitioned ot the US Air Force in 2002. She specialized in Labor & Delivery and proceeded to obtain a Master of Science in Nursing in 2007. Jennifer became a board certified Women's Health Nurse Practitioner and decided to further her academic journey by obtaining a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of South Alabama in 2014. After retiring from the US Air Force in 2020, Jennifer decided to embark upon giving back to the nursing community by becoming a nursing instructor. A career in nursing education led her to become a Simulation Educator at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. Jennifer consults and develops simulations, facilitates simulations and debriefs. As a Director of Simulation, she is also responsible for the day to day operations of the Simulation Center. Dr. Bankston is interested in advancing the role of simulation in undergraduate nursing programs through collaboration with not only faculty members, but subject matter experts in the local community.
