Krista is a master prepared registered nurse with interests in clinical nursing education, simulation-based learning, curriculum development and adult education. Krista currently work as a Clinical Simulation Educator with the Regional Simulation Team at Vancouver Coastal Health. As a Clinical Simulation Educator, Krista supports simulation initiatives throughout a health authority, at both urban and rural sites, building capacity among nurse educators and other interprofessional staff, during both in-situ and virtual simulations. She worked as a teaching assistant and lab instructor, helping students learn using an experiential learning approach. She was also a research and academic assistant for multiple projects within the School of Nursing at the University of British Columbia focusing on clinical nursing education and simulation based learning.Krista has presented her research at multiple conferences including the Western Canada Collaborative Health Science Educators conference and the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning Conference (poster and podium). At the bedside I have been a pediatric nurse in a variety of settings, including pediatric medicine and pediatric hospice. Krista transitioned to working with the adult population and completed her Critical Care Nursing Specialty Certificate through BCIT in June 2021 and currently works on a casual basis in the Intensive Care Unit at Vancouver General Hospital.
