Emily Jerge has been a registered nurse for 18 years practicing in adult med/surg and critical care units, and has been a nurse educator for 11 years. Emily is known for actively engaging her nursing students through creative learning strategies such as gaming and simulation, and was named the 2021 Western New York Nurse of Distinction in Education for being an innovative teacher. She was a Clinical Associate Professor at D'Youville University and was the Director of the Nursing Simulation and Clinical Practice Center there from 2021-2024. Emily is a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator and was a member of the 2022 National League for Nursing Simulation Leadership cohort. In 2023, she was one of Buffalo's 40 under 40 awardees. Emily is now a Corporate Nurse Educator for one of the largest systems in Western New York, Catholic Health, and is contributing towards simulations for various nurse residency programs. Emily has a passion for educating novice nurses, and empowering them through simulation.
