Kandyce Brennan graduated from Duke University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and furthered her education at Frontier Nursing University, where she earned a Master of Science in Midwifery in 2020 and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice in 2022. Dr. Brennan is currently employed by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing as an Assistant Professor.
Dr. Brennan has authored several articles in peer-reviewed journals, including a notable publication in Public Health Nursing (2024) entitled Bridging the gap: Innovating undergraduate public health nursing education through a service-learning health fair project. She specializes in health and social justice, and her research aims to improve equitable access to healthcare and address disparities in maternal and infant health outcomes.
In her current role, Dr. Brennan develops and implements innovative educational strategies, including the integration of AI-driven simulations in nursing education. She actively leads service-learning projects that bridge educational experiences with community health services, enhancing both student learning and community health outcomes.
Dr. Brennan is dedicated to advancing the science of nursing education through research and the development of innovative teaching tools.
