She has been a simulation educator since 2016 and Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator since 2021. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2003, and her Master’s degree in nursing education in 2014. She is currently a simulation faculty at the University of North Carolina Wilmington School of Nursing. She is a member of the Simulation Innovators, Movers, and Shakers (SIMS) Team, a simulation team dedicated to enhancing simulation within the school of nursing and across the health sciences campus. She is also on the Board of Directors of a local Sigma Theta Tau Nu Omega Chapter. She collaborates with faculty and staff to enrich their student learning through the implementation of simulation-based experiences.
She began her simulation career at Coastal Carolinas Health Alliance with a Mobile Simulation Program. She managed, planned, and implemented continuing professional development education activities for participants in the healthcare setting. She has a passion for using simulation to enhance learning outcomes for students and health care professionals.
She has presented simulation topics in the form of poster and podium presentations at INACSL and locally. She co-authored a manuscript on IPE simulation collaborating with nursing and athletic training students and faculty. She is co-presenting at INACSL 2022 on Faculty Development for implementing the new Prebreifing standard of best practice.
