Dr. Bowers is an Assistant Professor at the UAB School of Nursing and has practiced nursing in the United States, Venezuela, China, South Africa, South Sudan, and Uganda among communities where access to healthcare is scarce. Her experience includes training nursing students, nurses, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team to serve effectively through mobile medical clinics among medically under-served populations. Working through various partners domestically and internationally, she has planned and implemented nurse-managed primary care clinics at home and abroad. She currently serves with Changed Lives Mobile Clinic, a telehealth clinic, as a Family Nurse Practitioner and the Clinic Director. Dr. Bowers is also a member of the UAB School of Nursing Telehealth Work Group.
