Dr. Tedra Smith is an associate professor at The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing. She also serves as the Assistant Dean for Graduate Clinical Education - MSN. Dr. Smith has over 20 years of experience as a pediatric nurse/nurse practitioner. She assists with faculty development courses related to simulation for graduate and undergraduate students. Her scholarly pursuits includes developing standardized family-centered care objectives in simulation as well as research on the perspective of students in the observational participant role. Dr. Smith is an active member of the NONPF Simulation Committee. She currently serves on the Editorial Board for Pediatric Nursing journal and has received recognition as a distinguished professor in pediatric nursing and teaching excellence.
