Laura Thomas graduated from the PhD program at Texas Woman's University in 2014 and is employed by the University of North Texas Health Sciences Center at Fort Worth, Texas. Dr. Thomas has published in several peer-reviewed journals, most recently in Nursing Education Perspectives. Dr. Thomas is founding faculty and Professor in the College of Nursing and has contributed to the development of curriculum, policies, integration of the AACN Essentials and competency based education. Dr. Thomas is interested in advancing the integration of electronic health records into simulation centers and using objective measurement to assess students documentation competencies emphasizing use of data to inform communication and decision making.
