Simulation varies among two nursing schools within a 5-mile radius. Both North Carolina Central University (NCCU) and Duke University School of Nursing (DUSON) have large simulation programs and various learning spaces including classrooms, labs, simulation suites and study areas. NCCU has a newly renovated Eagle General Hospital featured on PBS North Carlina, and DUSON’s Center for Nursing Discovery is accredited by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare in the areas of Teaching and Education and Core Four Endorsement by INACSL.
The tour will include guides to escort participants to the various areas within the simulation centers and a networking luncheon held within the DUSON atrium. In addition to lunch, transportation from the Raleigh Convention Center and back is included in the price of the workshop.
Learning Objectives:
Explore two simulation centers in North Carolina
Discuss simulation operations at both centers
Identify a lesson learned that can be shared with your home simulation center
